This is a smoke machine. It is used to check for hard to find vacuum leaks. It is connected to a port in the intake manifold and turned on. It generates smoke which pours into the manifold. Smoke can then be seen coming from the leak. It can also be used to find leaks in exhaust systems, charcoal canisters, air cleaner housings, or anywhere else there is a low pressure leak.
